JAMMU: The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Jammu, led by Chairman Rahul Sahai, has submitted a comprehensive representation to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on key issues affecting the MSME sector in the Union Territory.
The representation was formally placed before the RBI during the 68th Empowered Committee Meeting on MSMEs held in Jammu.
Addressed to Chander Shekhar Azad, Regional Director, RBI Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh, the document highlights major financial and operational challenges faced by MSMEs in the region and outlines actionable recommendations for policy and procedural reforms.
Sahai appreciated the RBI for conducting a well-structured and productive meeting and expressed gratitude for the consistent engagement with industry stakeholders. He also thanked the Regional Director for his proactive approach and for responding positively to ICC’s previous submissions.
The representation covers concerns under key focus areas:
- Financial Easing for MSMEs
- CIBIL Score Improvement & Financial Literacy
- Extension of Moratorium Scheme for MSMEs
- Strengthening Implementation of the TReDS Platform
Sahai stressed that addressing these issues will significantly enhance financial inclusion, liquidity support, and long-term sustainability of MSMEs across J&K.
Reaffirming ICC’s commitment, he said the Chamber stands firmly with the Reserve Bank of India and the Government of India in their efforts to strengthen the MSME ecosystem and drive sustainable industrial growth in the region.
