JAMMU: As part of the RIDS – British Council India initiative Sharing and Caring, Heritage School organised a dry food collection drive to support children in need. The initiative aimed to instil values of empathy, social responsibility and compassion among students.
Students of Classes VI and VII actively participated by contributing dry food items as per class-wise guidelines. The enthusiastic response highlighted the students’ strong commitment to community service and collective well-being.
The collected food items were distributed on January 30, 2026, at Balgram Charitable Trust, Narwal, a children’s home. A group of 24 students visited the facility, where they interacted warmly with the children, shared experiences and spent meaningful time engaging in conversations and activities.
The visit proved to be an enriching and heart-touching experience for the students, helping them develop a deeper sense of gratitude, sharing and care.
The initiative not only provided essential food support to the children at Balgram but also reinforced the spirit of kindness and social awareness among Heritage School students. Activities under the RIDS – British Council India programme continue to nurture responsible global citizens who are sensitive to the needs of society.
The school expressed its appreciation to all students, teachers and parents for their wholehearted support in making the initiative a success.
