KATHUA: As a part of Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations 2025, the NSS Unit of Government Degree College Ramkate today organized Intra College Declamation Contest on “Truth and Non-Violence – Relevance of Gandhian Philosophy in Contemporary Times”.
The competition was organised under the patronship of Principal of the College Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of B.A. Semester Ist, 3rd and 5th and was organised to hone the oratory skills among students by encouraging participation in public speaking.
The participants expressed their talent of public speaking, confidence and command of language to inspire other students with concepts of “Truth and Non-Violence” that are the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. The competition was judged by Prof. Suresh Chander, HOD Dogri and Prof. Vasundra Raje, HoD Sociology.
First, second and third position was secured by Seema Devi from BA. Sem. Ist, Neha Devi from BA Semester 3rd and Kajal Devi from B.A. Semester 3rd respectively. The event ended with formal vote of thanks by NSS PO Prof. Anu Sharma who applauded the students for stepping out of their comfort zones to embrace the platform of public speaking.
