KATHUA: The Internal Complaints Committee of Government Degree College Ramkote today organised an Awareness Lecture on Provisions of Prevention of Sexual Harassment at workplace (POSH Act 2013).
The programme was organised under the patronage of Principal, Dr. Rakesh Kumar.
The convener of ICC Prof. Pankaj Nandan addressed the students and explained the provisions of POSH Act 2013.Prof. Anu Sharma, Nodal Officer SHE Box Portal educated the participants about the procedure of lodging complaints of harassment/misbehavior on the college campus through Internal Complaints Committee.
The session included detailed discussion on SHE Box Portal, helping students understand how to report incidents of sexual harassment and seek support. She also highlighted the fact that timely reporting of such incidents help proper redressal of the grievances and create a safe, respectful and healthy environment within the institution.
The session concluded with an interactive session and students raising their doubts and queries that were addressed. Nearly 40 students and faculty participated in the event.
