SAMBA: Government Degree College Ramgarh has initiated a month-long celebration to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti 2025.
The College organized a special screening of movies and media focusing on the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi. This event also aimed to raise awareness about “Nasha Mukt Bharat” (Drug-Free India) and “Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K” (Corruption-Free Jammu & Kashmir). The entire program was conducted under the guidance and coordination of Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol.
HOD Punjabi, Dr. Snobar began the event by enlightening the students about the significance of the event which was organized to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. She emphasized Gandhi Ji’s pivotal role as the prominent leader of India’s independence movement, achieved through nonviolent civil disobedience.
Darpan Malhotra coordinated the screening of the media content, which provided students with a profound glimpse into Gandhi Ji’s remarkable life and his unwavering commitment to peace, truth and social justice. It also shed light on his global influence as a champion of nonviolence.
Dr. Bisat Tariq addressed the students, shedding light on the social and health hazards associated with drug abuse. She encouraged students to embrace a drug-free life and society while also urging them to guide their friends away from the dark path of drug abuse.
The event drew a large number of students who actively participated in the celebration. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Snobar, expressing gratitude to all participants and attendees for making the program a grand success.
