JAMMU: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Saturday hit out at Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his remarks on Ladakh, accusing him of failing to fulfill promises made to the people of J&K ahead of the elections.
Speaking to reporters, Chugh said Omar Abdullah should focus on addressing pressing issues in Jammu and Kashmir instead of diverting attention towards Ladakh.
Taking a swipe at the Opposition, he remarked that whenever the country celebrates progress, “Rahul Gandhi and the INDIA bloc parties start playing the tune of mourning.”
He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for the youth, stating, “PM Modi has given a goal to Gen-Z and is continuously working for their welfare. The result of this is visible across the country as young Indians are driving the mission of self-reliance.”
On Ladakh, Chugh underlined that the Union Government has been holding several rounds of talks to address concerns. He pointed out that it was the BJP that created the Union Territory of Ladakh, carving five districts out of two, thereby fulfilling the long-standing demand of the region’s people.
“Under PM Modi’s leadership, Ladakh, like Jammu & Kashmir, is witnessing a new chapter of progress and development,” he added.
