JAMMU: FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh (JKL), in collaboration with the Mukul Madhav Foundation, organised a bicycle distribution initiative at Government School, Khana Chargal, to support girl students from rural communities and promote continued access to education.
The initiative aims to address transportation challenges faced by girls in rural areas, making their daily commute to school safer and more convenient while encouraging regular attendance, confidence and independence.
The programme was attended by Smt. Priya Sethi, former Minister and Vice President, BJP Jammu & Kashmir, as the Chief Guest. Representing FICCI FLO JKL were Chairperson Varsha Bansal, Senior Vice Chairperson Rupika Sai and Sona Mehta. School Principal Anita Sharma represented the institution, while Aman Mishra represented the Mukul Madhav Foundation.
The initiative was supported through the corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts of Finolex Industries, with which the Mukul Madhav Foundation is associated for its CSR activities. Ms. Ritu Chhabria has also been associated with the endeavour.
Speaking on the occasion, Varsha Bansal said supporting girls’ education was an investment in a stronger and more equitable future. She noted that bicycles could help remove a significant barrier to education for rural students by improving mobility and strengthening their confidence.
Chief Guest Priya Sethi described the initiative as a meaningful step towards empowering girls by improving access to education and enabling them to pursue their aspirations. She commended FICCI FLO JKL, the Mukul Madhav Foundation and Finolex Industries for their commitment to the cause.
FICCI FLO JKL reiterated its commitment to inclusive development through initiatives that support education, empower communities and create opportunities for girls, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
Through the collaboration, the participating organisations reaffirmed their shared commitment to ensuring that every girl has the opportunity to learn, grow and realise her potential.
