SRINAGAR: FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh hosted a soulful evening of Sufi music featuring the renowned Nizami Brothers at the SKICC Cottage Lawns here, bringing together music, culture and social responsibility under the theme “Where Music Meets Purpose.”
The event was held in support of the education of children of Jammu and Kashmir Police martyrs and was attended by Sujit Kumar, IPS, IGP Kashmir Zone, as the chief guest. As part of the initiative, FICCI FLO JKL presented a cheque of ₹5 lakh towards the education of the children of police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Speaking on the occasion, FICCI FLO JKL Chairperson Varsha Bansal said music could bring people together while creating opportunities to support meaningful social causes.
“Music has the ability to bring people together, transcend boundaries and touch hearts. Through this evening, we wanted to create a space where music meets purpose, and where we can express our gratitude to the families of our police martyrs by contributing towards the education of their children,” she said.
The event was attended by former FICCI FLO JKL chairpersons Ritu Singh, Varuna Anand, Ruchika Gupta and Aarti Chowdhary, along with members of the chapter’s core team, including Senior Vice Chairperson Rupika Sahai, Vice Chairperson Sona Mehta and Joint Treasurer Tanisha Pallan.
Members of the Executive Committee, police fraternity, administration, business community and civil society also attended the programme.
The Nizami Brothers captivated the audience with their Sufi renditions, creating an evening celebrating Kashmir’s rich musical and cultural heritage. The setting at the Cottage Lawns, overlooking the serene surroundings of Dal Lake, added to the ambience.
The programme also marked the culmination of FICCI FLO JKL’s first women-led electric vehicle rally from Jammu to Srinagar, organised to promote sustainable tourism and responsible mobility. The rally brought together women driving electric vehicles and sought to showcase the region’s diverse tourism potential while highlighting the importance of cleaner transportation.
The initiative reflected FICCI FLO JKL’s broader focus on women’s leadership, sustainable tourism, culture and social impact, combining the EV rally with an evening dedicated to music and support for the families of police martyrs.
FICCI FLO JKL expressed gratitude to the J&K Police, administration, tourism authorities, partners, members and guests for supporting the initiative, which brought together music, remembrance and a commitment to supporting the next generation of police martyrs’ families.
