JAMMU: FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh (JKL), in collaboration with Prevest DenPro, organised a one-day capacity-building workshop for women Gram Panchayat leaders from across the Jammu region, focusing on grassroots leadership, village-level governance and the use of digital tools in local administration.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from women Panchayat leaders, who shared challenges faced in their respective villages and discussed practical approaches to addressing them.
Shri Amit Shukla was the guest speaker, while Mr Amar Shukla of Empower Panchayat conducted sessions on Panchayat leadership, the role of standing committees, Digital Gram Sabha and Panchayat Mitra, a digital tool aimed at helping elected representatives navigate local governance issues and processes.
The programme was attended by Varsha Bansal, Chairperson, FICCI FLO JKL; Aarti Chowdhary, Immediate Past Chairperson, FICCI FLO JKL; and Namrata Modi, Executive Director, Prevest Dental. FICCI FLO JKL acknowledged Modi’s support and collaboration in facilitating the workshop.
“Through our work with women at the grassroots, we saw a clear need to equip Panchayat leaders with practical knowledge, confidence and ongoing support. This programme grew out of that need,” Bansal said.
The workshop is part of a 15-day capacity-building programme launched by FICCI FLO JKL in collaboration with Empower Panchayat. Under the initiative, participants are encouraged to engage Gram Sabha members, identify local issues, conduct Gram Sabhas and implement practical solutions. They are also provided one-year access to the Digital Gram Sabha platform, Panchayat Mitra and a learning platform for continued guidance and support.
The active participation at the Jammu workshop underscored the growing interest among women Panchayat leaders in practical governance training and digital tools. FICCI FLO JKL said it plans to expand the initiative to more women grassroots leaders across Jammu and Kashmir.
