SHOPIAN: The District Institute of Education and Trainings (DIET) Shopian, successfully conducted a one-day Capacity Building Programme on “Life Skill Curriculum” at DIET Shopian, in collaboration with the Bharti Airtel Foundation.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of the Principal DIET Shopian, Neetu Gandotra with the objective of strengthening the capacity of teachers in understanding and effectively implementing life-skill education among students. A total of 80 teachers from various schools of district Shopian participated in the programme.
The participants engaged in interactive learning sessions and discussions focused on the importance of life skills in the holistic development of students and their integration into the school education process.
The programme was coordinated by Mushtaq Ahmad Dangroo and Yasir-ul-Haq, Senior DIET Faculty, in close coordination with the team from Bharti Airtel Foundation comprising of Mir Atif, Coordinator Bharti Airtel Foundation and Pankaj Munshi, Master Resource person.
The resource team conducted the sessions using participatory and activity-based approaches, enabling the participating teachers to gain practical insights and strategies for incorporating life skills into classroom and school-level activities.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal DIET Shopian, appreciated the collaborative efforts of the Bharti Airtel Foundation and the SCERT J&K for organizing the capacity-building programme. The Principal emphasized the importance of equipping teachers with appropriate knowledge, skills and approaches to support the holistic, social and emotional development of students.
The participating teachers expressed their appreciation for the initiative and highlighted the relevance of the training in enhancing their professional capacity and facilitating effective life-skill education in schools.
The programme concluded with a commitment to further strengthen such collaborative initiatives aimed at improving the quality of school education and promoting the overall development of learners in district Shopian.
