JAMMU: To mark the auspicious occasion of Vijay Dashmi, a grand Shobha Yatra was taken out from the historic Shri Raghunathji Temple in Jammu, drawing large crowds of devotees.
The celebrations began with Murti Poojan at Shri Raghunath Ji Temple, presided over by Martand Singh, Trustee of J&K Dharmarth Trust, and MLA Yudhvir Sethi. This was followed by Rath Poojan and Dhwajarohan ceremonies. Also present were Dr. P.S. Pathania, President of the Trust, Ashok Kumar Sharma (IPS Retd.), Secretary, and Anil Masoom, former Corporator.
Organized by Sanatan Dharam Sabha in collaboration with J&K Dharmarth Trust, the Yatra commenced from Shri Raghunathji Temple and traversed Hari Market, Raghunath Bazaar, City Chowk, Shalamar, Ranbireshwar Temple, before culminating at Parade Ground.
Addressing the devotees, Martand Singh extended greetings on Vijay Dashmi and prayed for peace, prosperity, and happiness in Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that festivals, integral to the region’s heritage, strengthen communal harmony and reinforce the secular ethos. The Trustee reiterated Dharmarth Trust’s commitment to preserving Jammu and Kashmir’s rich religious and cultural traditions and assured continued dedication in organizing grand events in the future.
Tight security arrangements were implemented by the UT administration, with senior police officials overseeing smooth conduct of the celebrations. The historic Raghunath Ji Temple witnessed a massive rush of devotees, creating a spiritually vibrant and festive atmosphere throughout the city.
