ANANTNAG: Ahead of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) and the Friday Following, the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, today visited the Kabamarg and Baba Hyder Reshi (Reshmool) shrines to review the arrangements being put in place for the smooth observance of these auspicious occasions.
Notably, a large number of devotees are expected to visit these shrines and other important places during the holy days.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by the SEs of R&B, Hydraulics, and KPDCL, SDM Dooru, ACR, concerned Tehsildars and BMOs, CEO MCA, AEEs/AEs, and other ground-level functionaries.
During the visit, the DC offered prayers and took a detailed assessment of the arrangements concerning sanitation, streetlights, drinking water, power supply, road connectivity, parking, traffic management, healthcare, fire safety measures, and other essential facilities required for the convenience of devotees. He also took stock of the ongoing upgradation and renovation works at these religious sites.
At the shrines, the respective management committees apprised the DC of various requirements necessary for the smooth observance of the holy days.
Taking immediate note, the DC issued directions to the concerned departments to provide the necessary facilities at these venues in a smooth and hassle-free manner. He instructed them to ensure proper lighting, sanitation and cleanliness,, uninterrupted power supply, and other essential facilities at the shrines as well as on the approach roads leading to the religious sites for the convenience of devotees. He stressed that all essential services should remain functional during this period, particularly during the evening and night hours.
The DC directed all concerned officers to ensure the availability of deployed staff throughout the observance and to maintain close interdepartmental coordination in consultation with shrine management committees for the timely redressal of any emergent issues.
Dr. Bilal called for coordinated and proactive efforts by all concerned departments to ensure that devotees are provided with a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for the smooth observance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW). He stressed that all arrangements should remain devotee-centric, with a particular focus on providing a convenient and hassle-free environment to people visiting the shrines and mosques to offer prayers.
The DC expressed confidence that with the coordinated efforts of all stakeholders, Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) and the Friday following would be observed smoothly and with religious fervour across the district.
