JAMMU: As part of the Green Campus Initiative under the Swachh Bharat Mission–Urban and Hub School Activity, the Swachhata Executives from Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) conducted a Clean-Up Drive at Model Academy, BC Road, Jammu.
The event aimed to foster environmental awareness, promote cleanliness, and instill a sense of civic responsibility among students.
The drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who actively contributed to keeping the school campus and its surroundings clean and litter-free. Equipped with gloves, garbage bags, and masks provided by the JMC, the students collected plastic waste, paper litter, and other discarded materials from different parts of the campus.
The visiting JMC Executives interacted with students, sharing valuable insights on waste segregation and emphasizing the importance of separating biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. They also demonstrated correct waste disposal practices and discussed the long-term benefits of maintaining a clean and sustainable environment.
J. K. Dhiman, Vice Principal of Model Academy, appreciated the efforts of the JMC and commended the students for their active participation. He highlighted that such initiatives play a vital role in nurturing social responsibility and environmental consciousness among young learners.
The event concluded with a collective cleanliness pledge by students and staff, reaffirming their commitment to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings and inspire others to work towards a cleaner and greener community.
