KULGAM: District Employment & Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Kulgam today organized a capacity building entrepreneurship mela under the flagship Mission YUVA initiative at Government Polytechnic College, Kulgam.
The event was aimed at enhancing entrepreneurial aptitude among students and aspiring entrepreneurs while familiarizing them with the diverse opportunities and support mechanisms offered by various government institutions.
The programme saw enthusiastic participation from institutional heads and domain experts, including the Principal of Government Polytechnic College Kulgam, Superintendent ITI Kulgam, Career Counselling Officer DE&CC Kulgam, District Nodal Officer JKEDI Kulgam, and Industrial Promotion Officer DIC Kulgam.
Resource persons delivered insightful sessions on key themes such as entrepreneurial mindset, startup ecosystem, access to finance, government schemes, and the role of innovation in enterprise development.
A major highlight of the event was the student-led entrepreneurial exhibition, where students showcased creative stalls featuring business ideas, prototypes, and innovative solutions. This hands-on platform enabled participants to apply their learning, demonstrate their creativity, and receive valuable feedback from experts.
To encourage innovation and presentation excellence, top-performing stalls were felicitated with mementos and certificates of appreciation, boosting morale and underlining the importance of youth-driven innovation in economic and regional development.
The mela served as a dynamic platform for capacity building, institutional exposure, peer learning, and entrepreneurial networking, laying the foundation for inclusive and sustainable growth.
