SAMBA: District Police Samba have successfully solved a blind murder case registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana and arrested the accused involved in the killing of a migrant labourer.
On January 7, 2026, Police Station Bari Brahmana received reliable information about the body of an unidentified man lying at Lane No. 07, Phase-II, near Quality Casting Factory in the Industrial Area of Bari Brahmana. Prima facie, the individual appeared to have been murdered by unknown persons.
Taking cognisance of the matter, police registered FIR No. 30/2026 under Section 103 BNS and initiated an investigation.
During preliminary investigation, the deceased was identified as Jeevan Ahirwar, son of Khadiya Ahirwar, resident of Ward No. 10, Palkouha Gram, Post Office Kharyani, Tehsil Bijawar, District Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh.
Following sustained efforts and meticulous investigation, including analysis of CCTV footage and technical evidence, a police team from PS Bari Brahmana apprehended the accused Anil Kumar Ahirwar, son of Guman Kumar Ahirwar, resident of Khajuraho, Beniganj, Tehsil Rajnagar, District Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh), presently residing at Channi Himmat, Jammu.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to his involvement in the crime. Investigation revealed that he strangulated the victim and later smashed his face with a stone to conceal his identity.
On the disclosure of the accused, police recovered three mobile phones, one ATM card and one remittance card belonging to the deceased. It was further found that the accused withdrew ₹55,000 from the deceased’s bank account using the stolen ATM card. Out of this amount, ₹14,400 was recovered in cash from the accused, while the remaining amount was found deposited in his bank account. Police have initiated necessary action with the concerned bank to secure the remaining funds.
Investigations revealed that the deceased had recently received approximately ₹12–13 lakh as compensation from the Government of Madhya Pradesh for his house and land. The accused, being a close friend of the deceased, was aware of this amount and allegedly committed the murder to usurp the money.
