UDHAMPUR: Chief Principal Census Officer (CPCO) and Director, Directorate of Census Operations, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Amit Sharma, today launched Population Enumeration (Phase-II) of Census 2027 for the snow-bound areas of the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The field operations were formally launched from the remote, snow-bound areas of Dudu and Basantgarh in Udhampur district. SRINAGAR: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday arrested two police officials in Srinagar in connection with an alleged ₹15,000 bribery case, officials said. According to the ACB, it received a written complaint alleging that PSI Karanjeet Singh, Investigating Officer in FIR No. 65/2026 registered at Police Station Ram Munshi Bagh, Srinagar, had allegedly demanded illegal gratification through his accomplice Ravi Jee Bhat, Sub-Inspector at Police Station Ram Munshi Bagh, for closing the case as “Not Admitted” between the parties.
