70 rescued, 3 dead, 50 missing after flash floods in Uttarkashi; rescue operations underway
DEHRADUN: At least 70 civilians have been rescued as rescue and relief operations continue on a war footing in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, following flash floods and landslides near Harshil and Dharali. DEHRADUN: Rescue operations in Uttarakhand’s flash flood-ravaged Uttarkashi district gained momentum on Thursday, with 65 stranded people airlifted to Matli, officials said. Efforts were also stepped up to airlift advanced equipment to the Himalayan village of Dharali to speed up the search for those trapped under rubble, they said.
