JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has re-designated senior IAS officer Anil Kumar Singh, a 1995-batch officer of the AGMUT cadre, as the new Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) following his elevation to the Apex Scale.
According to an official order, Singh’s promotion and re-designation came after the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, approved his elevation to the Apex Scale (Level-17 in the Pay Matrix) through an order dated October 3, 2025.
Subsequently, the J&K Government issued a formal notification assigning him the charge of Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary). Officials confirmed that Anil Kumar Singh assumed his new responsibilities the same day.
With his appointment, Singh joins the top administrative echelon of the Union Territory, a position that entails key responsibilities in financial management, policy formulation, and coordination between central and UT-level agencies.
