KATHUA: The Mining Department Kathua intensified its crackdown on illegal mining by seizing a Poklane machine, a dumper and a JCB allegedly involved in unauthorized extraction of minor minerals in the district.
The enforcement action was carried out under the supervision of District Mineral Officer (DMO) Kathua, Varinder Singh, as part of the department’s ongoing drive to curb illegal mining and ensure strict compliance with mining regulations.
Officials said the machinery was found engaged in illegal mining activities during the operation. Following the seizure, legal proceedings have been initiated against the violators under the relevant provisions of the mining laws.
The Mining Department reiterated its commitment to protecting natural resources and preventing illegal extraction of minerals. It warned that strict enforcement drives will continue across Kathua district and that stringent action will be taken against those found violating mining regulations.
