JAMMU: The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Jammu, led by Chairman Rahul Sahai and accompanied by Sanjay Aggarwal, presented a comprehensive representation on MSME sector challenges during the 67th Empowered Committee Meeting of the Reserve Bank of India, chaired by Chander Shekhar Azad, Regional Director, RBI Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh.
Sahai highlighted the impact of global trade issues, including US tariff measures on sectors like pharmaceuticals, textiles, and yarns in J&K, urging banks to adopt a liberal approach towards stressed MSMEs. Key proposals included liberal credit renewals, special loan schemes, and CIBIL improvement workshops in collaboration with credit agencies.
ICC also suggested new lending products for hospitals and nursing homes facing Ayushman Bharat payment delays, and simplified loan-against-property schemes. The Chamber welcomed collateral-free loans under CGTMSE and recommended a government audit to ensure MSME registration on TReDS platforms to boost cash flows.
A separate submission addressed automobile sector concerns. Sahai reaffirmed ICC Jammu’s commitment to working with the Government and RBI to support economic stability and MSME growth in J&K.
