JAMMU: Atul International Taekwondo Academy (AITA), Jammu District, delivered a stellar performance at the 28th District Taekwondo Championship 2025–26, held at Bhagwati Nagar, Talab Tillo, which concluded on Thursday.
Creating history, AITA secured the First Place Overall, with its Channi Himmat and Janipur units jointly finishing at the top. The achievement reflects the academy’s strong emphasis on discipline, systematic training, and competitive excellence.
AITA athletes displayed remarkable skill and sportsmanship in both Kyorugi (sparring) and Poomsae events, earning multiple medals across age categories. Competitors represented the academy with confidence and determination, upholding the true spirit of martial arts.
In the Pee Wee Wing, Reyom Dawar won gold medals in Individual Poomsae and Kyorugi, while Shaurya Chopra secured gold in Pair Poomsae and silver in Kyorugi. Ojasvi Sharma claimed gold medals in Pair Poomsae and Kyorugi. Ananta earned bronze in Kyorugi and gold in Group Poomsae, while Aafreen and Sarah won gold medals in Group Poomsae, with Sarah also clinching gold in Kyorugi.
In the Sub-Junior Boys category, Rehaan Gupta bagged gold medals in Kyorugi and Group Poomsae, while Dhariya Mahajan and Revaant Gupta also won gold medals.
Among the Cadet Girls, Ritambra Sharma secured gold in Kyorugi and Group Poomsae, along with silver in Individual Poomsae, while Shiddhi Chopra won gold in Group Poomsae. In the Cadet Boys category, Ayaan Sharma won silver medals in Kyorugi and Individual Poomsae and gold in Group Poomsae. Ayam Sangra claimed gold in both Kyorugi and Poomsae, while Zaad Zia Wani achieved a clean sweep with gold medals in Kyorugi, Individual Poomsae, and Group Poomsae.
From AITA Janipur, Simar Verma and Anandit Padha won gold medals in Kyorugi.
The academy stated that students who did not win medals also gained valuable competitive exposure and experience. AITA expressed gratitude to parents for their constant support and acknowledged the efforts of Atul Pangotra (Mentor), Anuj Sharma (Founder & Director), and instructors Amit Kumar and Raghav Mehra for their guidance and leadership.
