JAMMU: Heritage School celebrated the outstanding achievement of Puneesh Puri of Class IX-D, who delivered a stellar performance at the 63rd National Roller-Skating Competition held at Visakhapatnam from December 5 to 15.
The championship was organised by the Roller Skating Federation of India and hosted by the Andhra Pradesh Roller Skating Association.
Puneesh clinched a Gold Medal in the Inline Sub-Junior 5 km Point-to-Point Track Race on December 11, a newly introduced event aligned with the World Games format. Displaying remarkable speed, endurance and tactical brilliance, he topped the event with 21 points, far ahead of competitors from Pondicherry and Uttar Pradesh. He continued his golden run by securing another Gold Medal in the 3000 metres Road Race on December 12, reaffirming his dominance at the national level.
A talented skater since Class II, Puneesh has emerged as one of the most decorated young athletes in roller skating, winning numerous medals at national, state and district levels. His achievements include multiple podium finishes at All India National Skating Championships and an exceptional performance at CBSE Nationals, where he was crowned National Champion with multiple gold medals.
In recognition of his exceptional talent, Puneesh was named the First Brand Ambassador of the Quads Category by SIMMONS RANA RACING, an international brand for speed skaters. His impressive record also includes medals at the All India 5th Ranking Championship in Ranchi, the 2nd India Skates Roller Games in Pollachi—where he won three gold medals—and a gold at the CBSE North Zone II Roller Skating Championship in Ambala City.
Throughout 2025, Puneesh has maintained remarkable consistency, securing top honours in several state-level competitions. He further added to his accolades by winning gold in the 500m Rink Race at the CBSE North Zone II Roller Skating Championship held in Ambala City in September 2025.
