SAMBA: Member of Legislative Assembly Chander Parkash Ganga on Thursday kick-started the blacktopping of three link roads in the Vijaypur Assembly constituency, with a total estimated cost of ₹50 lakh.
According to the MLA, the projects include blacktopping of the connecting road to village Nagrota from Utterbehni–Vijaypur link road costing ₹15 lakh, Suchani road at ₹10 lakh, and Mohalla Samrala, Mohalla Shadpal, and Mohalla Nohad in Panchayat Utterbehni worth ₹25 lakh. The works are being executed under the City Town Plan by PWD.
Ganga said the upgraded roads would bring major relief to residents, traders, and daily commuters, addressing their long-pending demand for improved infrastructure. He stressed that good roads form the foundation of overall progress, facilitating trade, tourism, and access to essential services.
The MLA directed the Public Works Department (PWD) to ensure timely completion of the projects while maintaining high-quality standards. He assured that regular inspections would be carried out to ensure transparency and accountability, with zero tolerance for substandard work.
Ganga added that multiple road improvement projects are currently underway across the constituency, reflecting the government’s commitment to strengthening basic infrastructure and promoting balanced development in both urban and rural areas.
He also informed that several new projects focusing on roads, water supply, and sanitation are in the pipeline and will be taken up in a phased manner in the coming months.
Among those present on the occasion were DDC Member Avtar Singh, BJP senior leader Jai Ram Sharma, BJP Block President Narinder Singh, Dheeraj Sharma, BJP District Secretary Narinder Partap Singh, BJP Block General Secretary Vikrant Singh, Raghubir Kumar (Ex Sarpanch), and Shrikant Sharma.
