LEH: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, today chaired a high-level security review meeting at the LG Secretariat, Leh, to assess the overall law and order situation and review the prevailing security scenario across the Union Territory.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Director General of Police Dr. S.D. Singh Jamwal, DIG CRPF P.R. Jambolkar, Deputy Commissioner Leh, Senior Superintendent of Police Leh, CO 79 Sanjay Kumar, CO Rajat Jain, and other senior officials.
Officials briefed the Lt Governor on the overall situation in the UT, informing that peace and normalcy have been fully restored. It was apprised that schools, colleges, public institutions, and government offices are functioning smoothly, with essential services and public transport operating seamlessly.
The Deputy Commissioner, Leh, informed that all restrictions, including Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), have been formally lifted, signifying a complete return to normalcy across the region.
The Hon’ble Lt Governor commended the efforts of the civil and police administration, security agencies, and the people of Ladakh for their exemplary contribution in maintaining peace, harmony, and stability. He lauded the collective spirit of the people and civil society organisations, noting that the lifting of curbs reflects the deep trust and confidence citizens place in the UT Administration.
Emphasizing the administration’s commitment to secure and people-centric governance, Kavinder Gupta underscored the importance of sustained coordination among all agencies to preserve the prevailing peace and ensure continued public convenience. He also urged citizens to remain alert and united against elements attempting to disturb Ladakh’s stability and progress.
Reaffirming the Administration’s resolve toward the holistic development of Ladakh, the Lt Governor reiterated his vision of inclusive, transparent, and accountable governance aimed at building a prosperous and secure future for all.
