LEH: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, today chaired a high-level meeting to review the prevailing law and order situation in the Union Territory.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Director General of Police Dr. S.D. Singh Jamwal, DIG Srinagar South P.K. Singh, Deputy Commissioner Leh, SSP Leh Sanjay Kumar, CO 79 Rajat Jain, CO 25, and other senior officials.
Officials briefed the Lt Governor on the latest security scenario and measures undertaken to maintain peace and stability in the region.
The Lt Governor lauded the relentless efforts of security forces and civil administration in restoring normalcy under challenging circumstances, and expressed appreciation for the patience and cooperation of the people of Ladakh.
Reviewing welfare measures, Kavinder Gupta enquired about the condition of the injured under treatment at government hospitals. He directed the administration to ensure the best possible medical care, including financial and humanitarian assistance for those requiring advanced treatment outside the UT.
Appealing to citizens, he urged people not to heed rumours or misinformation, assuring that peace and harmony would be safeguarded at all costs.
He further assured that restrictions imposed as precautionary measures will be lifted in a phased manner as the situation fully stabilizes.
“Peace and development are the top priorities of the administration. Together, with the cooperation of the people, Ladakh will continue on the path of progress,” the Lt Governor said.
