JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) organized a Bootcamp under the Startup Idea Challenge at the prestigious IIT Jammu to give a boost to the startup ecosystem of the Union Territory in line with the J&K Startup Policy 2024–27.
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from budding entrepreneurs and innovators. A total of 30 participants, grouped into 10 teams, pitched their innovative ideas, of which five promising ideas were shortlisted for the next round.
Speaking on the occasion, Chand Kishor Sharma, Joint Director, JKEDI, encouraged the participants to harness their potential and contribute to the growth of the startup ecosystem in J&K. He highlighted the government’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation through the recently notified Startup Policy.
Zahid Ali Dar, Project Manager, JKEDI, addressed the gathering and emphasized the significance of the Idea Challenge Workshops in nurturing innovation and building a robust entrepreneurial culture in the UT. Ms. Shiwani Sharma delivered a detailed presentation on the provisions and benefits of the J&K Startup Policy, acquainting participants with the various incentives and support mechanisms available.
The event was also graced by MT Arvind, CIO IIT Jammu & Director, I3C, IIT Jammu, who expressed his support for collaborative efforts in strengthening the startup ecosystem and assured IIT Jammu’s active role in mentoring and guiding young entrepreneurs.
The Bootcamp served as a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to refine their business ideas, gain insights from experts and move closer to their entrepreneurial journey.
