JAMMU: The War Wounded Foundation (WWF) continues to improve the lives of war-disabled soldiers through mobility assistance, livelihood support and initiatives aimed at promoting self-reliance, dignity and social reintegration.
Highlighting the Foundation’s efforts, Brig Harcharan Singh (Retd), Director, North Zone, WWF, said that 100 modified scooters and 12 auto-rickshaws had been distributed to disabled soldiers across the northern states and Union Territories, helping beneficiaries improve their mobility and lead more independent lives.
During the Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Rally held at Miran Sahib on October 30, the Foundation presented a modified scooter and a battery-operated wheelchair to two war-disabled soldiers, reaffirming its commitment to their comfort, dignity and independent living.
In another significant initiative, WWF is extending financial assistance to a disabled soldier to establish a poultry farm, creating an opportunity for self-employment and long-term economic independence.
Beyond providing mobility equipment and financial support, the Foundation places emphasis on psychological support, motivation and empowerment. Its initiatives encourage disabled soldiers to overcome challenges, rebuild their confidence and lead productive lives with greater independence.
Through its sustained welfare efforts, the War Wounded Foundation continues to demonstrate solidarity with the nation’s brave soldiers, transforming challenges into opportunities and reinforcing its guiding philosophy: “Converting Disability into Ability.”
