UDHAMPUR: The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute, District Centre Udhampur, in collaboration with Government College for Women Udhampur, today conducted a boot camp under the startup idea challenge 2.0, giving students and aspiring entrepreneurs a platform to showcase innovative ideas and learn about the startup ecosystem.
Among 110 participating candidates, 10 pitched their ideas before a jury panel of which four were shortlisted for the next level.
The programme was inaugurated by College Principal Dr. Nalini Pathania in the presence of Functional Manager, DIC Jagdeep Singh; Vice Principal Dr. Monika Sharma, Associate Project Manager JKEDI Jammu Campus Abilash Baroo and members of the faculty.
District Nodal Officer, JKEDI Udhampur Yash Paul Sharma outlined the objectives of the challenge and encouraged participants to identify real-world problems and develop viable solutions.
Dr. Pathania underscored the importance of fostering innovation among students, while Jagdeep Singh urged young minds to become startup entrepreneurs and drivers of the J&K economy. Abilash Baroo briefed participants on the J&K Startup Policy 2024–27 and offered guidance on pitching their ideas.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Preety Dubey, IIC Convener, Government College for Women, Udhampur and Yash Paul Sharma of JKEDI Udhampur.
