BARAMULLA: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sopore, Dr. S.A. Raina today conducted a field visit to Kranshiv Colony, Sopore, to inspect and identify suitable government land for the proposed establishment of the Government Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital in the area.
During the visit, the ADC inspected the identified site and took stock of its suitability, accessibility and other essential requirements for the proposed institution.
The concerned officers were directed to undertake the necessary verification and complete the required formalities for identification and further processing of the land.
The proposed medical college is aimed at strengthening AYUSH healthcare infrastructure and providing improved facilities for education and treatment in the region.
Later, the ADC also inspected Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) School, Chankhan, and took stock of the functioning of the institution, particularly the student enrolment and attendance position.
During the interaction, the ADC expressed concern over the low student enrolment and impressed upon the teaching staff to make concerted efforts to maximise enrolment by reaching out to the local community and encouraging parents to enrol their children in the school.
He further directed the teaching staff to maintain full attendance and ensure proper academic preparedness of students for the forthcoming examinations.
