SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah flew to New Delhi on Wednesday morning to attend a meeting of INDIA bloc leaders, skipping the final day of the ongoing J&K Assembly session.
Sources said National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, CPI(M) leader M Y Tarigami and leaders of the J&K Congress unit are also unlikely to attend the meeting, scheduled to be held at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi.
Meanwhile, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, who arrived in the national capital on Tuesday, is expected to participate in the meeting.
Opposition leaders are likely to deliberate on the functioning of the Election Commission and broader issues concerning electoral processes during the meeting.
The gathering comes amid continuing discussions among Opposition parties on electoral matters and coordination within the INDIA bloc.
