SRINAGAR: Srinagar is hosting the 9th National Deaf Men’s T20 Cricket Championship 2026, bringing together talented deaf cricketers from across the country and providing them a national-level platform to showcase their sporting skills.
The championship is being held from September 28 to October 04 at Bakshi Stadium and TRC Ground, Srinagar.
The tournament commenced with an opening ceremony at Bakshi Stadium, where the Secretary, J&K Sports Council, congratulated the participating athletes and emphasised the importance of creating equal and inclusive opportunities in sports.
Highlighting the spirit of the championship, the Secretary stressed that sports belong to everyone and that sporting platforms play an important role in fostering confidence, participation, excellence and inclusion among athletes.
The successful conduct of the championship reflects the continued efforts of the J&K Sports Council towards promoting competitive and inclusive sports, supporting national-level sporting events and making optimal use of the sports infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir to provide athletes with quality facilities and platforms.
The participation of teams and athletes from different parts of the country also highlights Srinagar’s growing stature as a host for national sporting competitions.
