RAMBAN: District Industrial Centre Ramban on Friday organised an Apprenticeship Mela here at Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) with the objective providing apprenticeship opportunities to local youth and students and encouraging greater participation of establishments under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS).
The programme was organised under the supervision of General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC) Ravindra Anand and Superintendent, Government ITI Parvez Iqbal. Officers and officials from the departments of Employment, Labour, Education, Rural Development and Municipal Council participated in the programme.
The participating officers sensitised the students and local youth to the objectives, benefits and opportunities available under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme. They highlighted the importance of apprenticeship training in bridging the gap between academic learning and practical workplace skills.
The speakers encouraged the youth to make effective use of apprenticeship opportunities to acquire industry-relevant skills, gain practical experience and enhance their employability.
They also emphasised the role of skill development and vocational training in promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship.
