REASI: Government Degree College Katra organised a pledge ceremony under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to sensitise students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and reinforce the collective commitment towards building a drug-free society.
The programme commenced with the administration of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Pledge by Prof. Mohd. Younus Saleem, in which the Principal, faculty members and students of the college participated enthusiastically. The participants pledged to stay away from drugs and contribute towards creating a healthy, safe and drug-free society.
Addressing the students, the Principal Dr. Rajni Bhagat highlighted the serious physical, psychological and social consequences of drug abuse. She urged the students to remain vigilant, make responsible choices and firmly stay away from drugs and other forms of substance abuse. She also emphasised the vital role of students in spreading awareness among their peers, families and the wider community.
The Principal appreciated the efforts of the NCORD Committee, Katra and the NSS Unit of GDC Katra for organising the awareness initiative. She called upon all stakeholders to work collectively and actively towards achieving the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
