JAMMU At least five Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were injured after a vehicle carrying them turned turtle along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, police officials said.
The BSF vehicle was part of a Jammu-bound convoy when the accident occurred near Chamba-Seri along the highway, officials said.
A rescue operation was launched immediately following the accident, and the injured personnel were evacuated to a hospital for treatment. Those injured have been identified as Sub-Inspector Ghar Singh, driver Shamim Ahmed, Constables Sunil Kumar, Parshtum Kumar and Chandan Yadhav.
Officials said the condition of driver Shamim Ahmed, a resident of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, was stated to be serious.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and further details are awaited.
