JAMMU: KC Public School, Jammu, the only Round Square School in Jammu and Kashmir, hosted Rajbir Sandhu, Schools Support Director, South Asia & Gulf Region, Round Square, during an official support visit to the institution.
Sandhu was accorded a warm welcome by Chairman Raju Chowdhary, Managing Director Arti Chowdhary, Principal Amarendra Mishra and the Senior Leadership Team. The welcome featured a traditional tilak ceremony, followed by an impressive guard of honour presented by the Girls NCC contingent.
During the visit, Sandhu toured the school’s facilities, including smart classrooms, advanced laboratories, the art arcade, sports arena and indoor sports facilities at KC Sports Club. She also interacted with students, faculty and parents.
Sandhu appreciated the effective integration of the six Round Square IDEALS—Internationalism, Democracy, Environment, Adventure, Leadership and Service—into the school curriculum. She particularly praised student-led initiatives, the strong student voice in assemblies, service and environment projects, and the school’s Adventure and Leadership programmes aimed at developing resilience, character and global citizenship.
She lauded KC Public School’s progressive pedagogy and holistic educational ethos. Addressing the faculty, she shared insights into global best practices and commended the dedication of the teaching fraternity.
As part of the school’s Go Green initiative, Sandhu also participated in a sapling plantation. She felicitated the Core Student Committee of the maiden Round Square Conference hosted by KC Public School this year, appreciating the students for their leadership and teamwork.
An interactive session with parents formed another key part of the visit. Sandhu highlighted the role of Round Square learning experiences in nurturing confident, compassionate and responsible global citizens, while parents appreciated the school’s efforts to provide students with international exposure through the Round Square platform.
Chairman KC Educational Society Raju Chowdhary said, “It was an honour to host Sandhu. Her guidance has enriched us and will further strengthen our commitment to holistic education.”
