JAMMU: A Pakistani national who had inadvertently crossed the International Border into Indian territory was handed over to Pakistan Rangers by the Border Security Force (BSF) at the Golpattan Border Out-Post area on Monday, officials said.
The man, identified as Nazir Sadhir, a resident of Luni Pundra village in Sialkot, was apprehended in the Kanachak area of Jammu on September 3 shortly after he crossed into India from the Pakistani side.
During questioning, the man reportedly told security personnel that he belonged to a village along the Pakistani border and had inadvertently crossed into Indian territory.
Following the questioning and verification, the BSF established contact with its Pakistani counterparts and held a flag meeting with the Pakistan Rangers to facilitate his return.
Sadhir was subsequently handed over to the Pakistan Rangers at the border, officials said.
The incident was resolved through established border coordination mechanisms between the BSF and Pakistan Rangers, with the individual being repatriated after authorities determined that the crossing was inadvertent.
