RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan, who is also the Chairman of the Vidyalaya Management Committee (VMC), today conducted a comprehensive inspection of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Batote to assess the functioning of the institution, status of infrastructure, basic amenities and operational issues.
The DC was accompanied by the Tehsildar Batote, Principal JNV and other concerned officers.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected school buildings and facilities besides reviewing the availability of essential amenities for students and staff. He asked the building owner to undertake major renovation and structural repair works, while minor and routine maintenance would be managed by the school administration.
The DC directed the Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti, to ensure regular and adequate water supply to the institution. He further instructed that water tankers be deployed during contingencies to ensure uninterrupted availability of drinking water for students and staff.
Reviewing the status of the permanent JNV campus under construction at Sanasar, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned executing agencies and engineers to expedite the pace of work and ensure timely completion of the project. He also directed them to submit a detailed status and progress report to his office along with complete project records.
Later, the DC chaired a meeting with the Principal JNV, building owner and concerned officers to deliberate on issues related to the functioning and maintenance of the institution. He assured that the matter of outstanding rent payable to the property owner would be taken up with the higher authorities in the Department for early resolution.
The DC emphasized close coordination among all concerned departments and agencies to address the issues affecting the institution and ensure a safe, functional and conducive learning environment for the students.
