DODA: Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm across district Doda today to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, eminent philosopher, educationist and former President of India.
The district-level function was organised here at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, with District Development Commissioner Krishan Lal as the Chief Guest. Chief Planning Officer Manesh Kumar was the Guest of Honour, while DySP Traffic Shoket Ali Beig was the Special Guest.
The event witnessed the participation of senior officers, retired officers and officials of the School Education Department, besides heads of educational institutions, teachers and students.
The programme featured cultural presentations, speeches and other activities highlighting the vital role of teachers in shaping young minds, inculcating values and contributing towards nation-building. Students expressed their gratitude and respect for their teachers through heartfelt speeches and cultural performances, adding colour and warmth to the celebrations.
The Chief Guest appreciated the dedication and commitment of the teaching fraternity towards imparting quality education and ensuring the holistic development of students. He emphasised that teachers play a pivotal role in nurturing responsible citizens, instilling ethical values and strengthening the foundations of a progressive society.
On the occasion, the valuable contribution and dedicated services of retired officers and officials of the Education Department were also acknowledged. The dignitaries appreciated their role in strengthening the education system and contributing to the development of the sector.
Similar Teachers’ Day programmes were organised at educational institutions across the district, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students and staff.
Meanwhile, the Teachers’ Day was celebrated at Government Girls High School Pul Doda to honour the invaluable contribution of teachers in shaping the future of students and society.
The programme was organised under the guidance of Incharge Headmaster Indu Bhushan, in presence of teaching staff and students. Students participated enthusiastically in the celebrations and expressed gratitude and respect towards their teachers through a variety of activities.
The students also presented a colourful cultural programme featuring a range of performances that added vibrancy to the celebrations.
