SRINAGAR: The Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), in collaboration with S.P.College Srinagar, organised the Startup Idea Challenge 2.0 under the J&K Startup Policy 2024–27. The programme is part of JKEDI’s broader efforts to foster innovation, entrepreneurship and youth-led startups across the Union Territory.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and young entrepreneurs of S.P.College,Srinagar, National Institute of Technology( NIT) Srinagar,Govt Polytechnic College for Women, Srinagar, who presented a diverse range of innovative ideas before the selection committee.
Prof. (Dr.) HameedUllah Wani , Vice-Principal SP College, Srinagar, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and appreciated the innovative concepts presented by the participants, congratulating them for taking their first step towards innovation and emerging as the startups of tomorrow.
The event was attended by distinguished experts and faculty members from various domains, including Shabir Hussain Shah, Faculty / District Nodal Officer, JKEDI Srinagar – Chairing the Panel Dr. Khursheed Ahmad Shah, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, SP College, Srinagar, Dr. Sharath Kumar, Scientist, ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture, Rangreth, Sana Aftab, CEO,Incubator-NIT, Srinagar, Tabish Shah, Senior Executive Manager, J&K Bank, Srinagar, Tahir Kalwal, Successful Entrepreneur, Team of JKED, District Centre Srinagar.
Shabir Hussain Shah, District Nodal Officer, JKEDI Srinagar, briefed the participants about the J&K Startup Policy and the support ecosystem being provided by JKEDI.
The Startup Idea Challenge 2.0 provides selected innovators with opportunities for mentorship, incubation support, and pathways to seed funding and co-working facilities at JKEDI hubs, helping transform promising ideas into viable entrepreneurial ventures.
