SRINAGAR: Under the leadership of Mohammad Younis Malik, Director JKEDI, the Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), organised an Entrepreneurship Orientation Programme (EOP) for the students of Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS), Qalamabad, Kupwara.
The programme commenced with an engaging brainstorming session on “Identifying Opportunities”, encouraging students to look at challenges around them as potential opportunities for innovation and enterprise. The discussion soon developed into a fruitful debate on why entrepreneurship could be the way forward for the youth, encouraging students to think beyond conventional employment and explore entrepreneurship as a means of creating value and employment.
The second part of the programme featured an interactive business simulation exercise, conducted by seasoned JKEDI faculty, including Dr Sameer Jan Bhat Teaching Associate, Dr Mohammad Furqan Khan, Assistant Faculty and Dr Irem Hussanie, Assistant Faculty. The simulation provided students with practical exposure to business decision-making, teamwork, problem-solving, opportunity assessment and market-oriented thinking.
The programme concluded with the Principal, BHSS Qalamabad, expressing gratitude to the JKEDI course team and all the staff involved in hosting the programme. He appreciated the initiative for providing students with an opportunity to explore new ideas and gain practical exposure to entrepreneurship and innovation.
The programme reaffirmed JKEDI’s commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial mindsets, innovation and opportunity-oriented thinking among the youth across Jammu & Kashmir.
