PULWAMA: The Tehsil Legal Services Committee Pampore, under the guidance and supervision of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Pulwama, successfully organized the 3rd National Lok Adalat today, at the Munsiff Court Pampore.
The Lok Adalat was aimed at providing speedy, economical, and amicable resolution of disputes, thereby ensuring easy access to justice for the general public.
The proceedings of the National Lok Adalat were conducted by the 6th Bench, presided over by Uzma Amin, Munsiff and Chairperson, TLSC Pampore, along with Bench Member Advocate Aijaz Ahmad Khan. The Bench actively encouraged the parties to resolve their disputes through dialogue, mutual understanding, and conciliation.
Through effective mediation efforts and constructive interaction with the litigants, out of 40 cases, 27 were amicably settled on the spot, involving a realisation of settlement amount of Rs 9,70,000.
The settlements provided immediate relief to the litigants and also contributed significantly towards reducing the pendency of cases in the regular courts.
The successful conduct of the National Lok Adalat was further facilitated by the cooperation and assistance of the Prosecuting Officer, Pampore, Noveed Sarwer Khan, whose proactive role proved instrumental in resolving several matters amicably.
The National Lok Adalat held at Munsiff Court Pampore once again highlighted the importance of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms in delivering timely, cost-effective, and accessible justice. Such initiatives reflect the continued commitment of the Legal Services Authorities towards promoting harmony, reducing litigation, and strengthening public confidence in the justice delivery system.
