RAJOURI: Government Post Graduate College Rajouri, organised a solemn and inspiring valedictory function to mark the end of Sewa Parv, which coincides with the Gandhi Jayanti.
The programme was conducted in a blended mode, ensuring the participation of both staff and students in large numbers.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Prof. Murtaza Ahmed, followed by a heartfelt Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi led by Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza, Principal of the College. He reflected on the timeless ideals of truth, non-violence and simplicity as propounded by the Father of the Nation.
Prof. Khaleeq Ahmed, Nodal Officer of Sewa Parv, delivered the Keynote Address, wherein he highlighted the series of activities undertaken during the observance of Sewa Parv from 27th September to 2nd October. These included cleanliness drives within and around the campus, Nasha Mukt Bharat awareness programmes, debates, seminars and quizzes on the life and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi, blood donation camps, financial aid drives for the underprivileged, as well as a highly informative workshop on women’s health and hygiene.
The College Principal also sought feedback from various departments, Clubs, and Committees who actively organised and coordinated different activities, acknowledging their commendable role as stakeholders in the success of the week-long celebrations.
Later, all participants solemnly took the Swachhta Pledge, reiterating their commitment towards cleanliness, social responsibility and community service in both online and offline modes.
The College also extended its heartfelt thanks to Health Department, Social Welfare Department, Rajouri Municipal Council and in particular the District Administration headed by Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma for their invaluable support in making this series of events a grand success.
The programme concluded with a gracious Vote of Thanks presented by Dr. Zakir Hussain Kalis, Convener Cultural and Literary Committee, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to all faculty members, students and dignitaries for making the event meaningful and impactful.
