RAMBAN: Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Shokat Hayat Mattoo along with Tehsildar Deep Kumar and Police Officers today flagged off devotees for the sacred Manimahesh Yatrahere from Raghunath Temple Ramban.
Led by the Baba Devi Dass Maharaj, the devotees will undertake the pilgrimage via Bhaderwah–Chamba route to Manimahesh Lake, a sacred high-altitude pilgrimage destination situated at an elevation of around 13,000 feet in Himachal Pradesh.
The flag-off ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation of hundreds of devotees including men, women and children, who embarked on the spiritual journey carrying the holy mace (Chhari Mubarak). The atmosphere resonated with devotional chants of “Har Har Mahadev” as the pilgrims commenced their pilgrimage to the revered Manimahesh Lake.
Speaking on the occasion, the ACR extended his best wishes to the pilgrims. He called upon the devotees to uphold the values of communal harmony, brotherhood and mutual respect throughout the journey.
The police authorities informed that adequate security and traffic management arrangements have been put in place for the movement of the devotees. The pilgrims were appealed to strictly follow safety guidelines, adhere to weather and traffic advisories and cooperate with police personnel and other officials deployed along the route.
The flag-off marked the commencement of the sacred pilgrimage from Ramban, reflecting the district’s rich spiritual traditions and the spirit of faith, devotion and communal harmony.
