JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has enhanced the monthly stipend for MBBS and BDS interns, including Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs), from ₹12,300 to ₹25,000, with effect from October 1, 2026.
According to Government Order No. 747-JK(HME) of 2026, issued by the Health and Medical Education Department on October 21, the enhancement has been sanctioned with the approval of the Finance Department.
The order was issued by Saugat Biswas, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Health and Medical Education Department.
The revised stipend will benefit medical and dental interns, including foreign medical graduates undergoing internship in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The order has been circulated to principals of government medical colleges, Government Dental Colleges in Jammu and Srinagar, Director Health Services Jammu and Kashmir, and other concerned departments for implementation.
