JAMMU: The grounds of Jammu Sanskriti School were filled with joy, cheers, and spirited enthusiasm as the school hosted the Kindergarten interschool sports competition — Race of Hope – Umeedon ki Daud.
Over 11 schools from across the region participated, making the event a memorable celebration of sportsmanship among young learners.
The programme began on an auspicious note with a lively Welcome Song presented by the students of the host school. Harmeet, Coordinator – Kindergarten, extended a warm welcome to all the dignitaries, participants, and guests.
The event was graced by Anissa Nabi, Chief Sports Officer, J&K Sports Council as the Chief Guest, and Hon. Captain Choudhary Jagdish Chander as Guest of Honour. They were formally welcomed by Rohini Aima, Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson, Jammu Sanskriti School.
A series of engaging and age-appropriate track events were conducted for the tiny tots, who showcased wonderful energy, excitement, and athletic spirit, winning the hearts of the audience. A special teachers’ game added an exciting twist, drawing loud applause and strengthening the sense of camaraderie among educators and students.
Expressing pride in the young achievers, Principal Rohini Aima said:
“Race of Hope – Umeedon ki Daud celebrates innocence, enthusiasm and the pure joy of sports. Witnessing our little champions compete with zeal was truly heartwarming. Such events play a crucial role in children’s holistic development, nurturing confidence, fitness, and healthy competition from an early age.”
The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour felicitated winners with trophies and certificates, appreciating the enthusiasm of participating schools and the efforts of organizers.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Headmistress Bhavna Singh Jamwal, who acknowledged the collective efforts of dignitaries, management, participating schools, teachers, parents and support staff in making the event a grand success.
