JAMMU: J P World School celebrated its Annual Day today with great enthusiasm, warmth and festive fervour, commemorating 20 glorious years of togetherness and excellence. The event beautifully unfolded the theme “Rekindling the Yuletide Spirit,” spreading the message of love, compassion, joy and togetherness associated with Christmas.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome extended to the Management, Chairperson Dr. Panna Manhas Choudhary, Chief Guest Satish Sharma, Cabinet Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Science & Technology, Information Technology, Youth Services & Sports, ARI and Training, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, along with an esteemed panel of Guests of Honour. These included Rahul Sahai (Chairman, Indian Chamber of Commerce, Jammu & Kashmir), Ashok Kumar Khajuria (Director Finance, Youth Services & Sports), Rayaz Hussain (Director Finance, Industry & Commerce), Vivek Shekhar (SP North), and Pardeep Dutta (Consulting Editor, NDTV). Principal Aparana Kohli, parents and members of the school fraternity were also present.
The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising hope, wisdom and the triumph of light over darkness. A proud and momentous highlight of the day was the inauguration of the school’s new school song, reflecting the institution’s vision, values and remarkable journey over the past two decades.
Addressing the gathering, Chairperson Dr. Panna Manhas Choudhary congratulated the school on completing 20 successful years of service in education. She emphasized the importance of value-based education, holistic development and nurturing compassionate global citizens.
Principal Aparana Kohli, in her inspiring address, reflected upon the school’s remarkable journey, academic achievements and co-curricular milestones. She expressed gratitude to the management, staff, parents and students for their collective efforts in making the school a beacon of excellence.
The cultural showcase brought the theme “Rekindling the Yuletide Spirit” to life through a vibrant blend of music, dance and drama. Beginning with soulful Christmas carols, the performances unfolded into lively dance sequences and engaging theatrical acts such as The Elf Factory, the arrival of Santa Claus, and emotionally moving scenes highlighting compassion, kindness, social responsibility, empathy for the less fortunate and respect for the elderly. The programme culminated in a high-energy grand finale dance by all participants, leaving the audience spellbound.
The ceremony also featured the felicitation of international and national players for their outstanding achievements, followed by the honouring of alumni and brand ambassadors for their continued association with the school. A special mention was made of Seerat Baji, IAS, from Control Village, Rajouri, Jammu & Kashmir, a proud alumnus of J P World School, who secured All India Rank 516 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023. Though unable to attend in person due to professional commitments, she interacted virtually with the gathering, inspiring the entire school community.
The Chief Guest and Guests of Honour were felicitated as a mark of respect and appreciation. Addressing the gathering, Satish Sharma lauded the school’s vision, the meaningful theme of the celebration and the students’ commendable performances.
The event concluded with a sincere vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the management, Chairperson, Chief Guest, Guests of Honour, parents, teachers, students and all those who worked tirelessly to make the celebration a grand success.
