JAMMU: Heritage School Jammu hosted a grand Felicitation Ceremony on Thursday to honour the outstanding academic achievers of the 2024–25 session.
The event, filled with pride and celebration, recognised students for their dedication, perseverance and exemplary academic performance.
The school welcomed Devayani Rana, MLA Nagrota, as the Chief Guest for the occasion. An alumna of UCLA, California, with a degree in Economics, her presence added grace and significance to the ceremony. The event was attended by Chairman Sunil Gupta, members of the Board of Trustees, and proud parents of the achievers.
The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp followed by a soulful Saraswati Vandana, where young Kathak performers mesmerised the audience, creating an aura of culture and devotion.
One of the major highlights was the presentation of the Golden Crest Awards to 37 students by the Principal and Vice Principal. The prestigious insignia recognises those who have consistently secured 90% and above for three consecutive years from Class VI onwards.
In fond remembrance of Late Shri Jia Lal Gupta, a strong advocate of education, Chairman Mr. Sunil Gupta presented cash awards of ₹10,000 to students scoring above 90% in the AISSE 2024–25, further encouraging a spirit of academic excellence.
The celebration was punctuated with a musical presentation by the school band, “Minstrels of Melody”, whose vibrant lineup of songs drew enthusiastic applause from the audience. This was followed by the conferring of Academic Blazers by the Chief Guest to Suhana Dubey, Jhanavi Raina, Pranwat Singh, Shreyas Magotra and Akshara Gupta for maintaining 90% and above for four consecutive years (Classes VI–IX).
The recognition of Class XII achievers formed another proud moment of the day. Class XII toppers were awarded medallions by Ms. Rana:
- Kripa Arora – Commerce (97.2%)
- Sahira Mahajan – Science (93.6%)
- Akshita Choudhary – Humanities (93.4%)
The Best House Trophy (Senior Wing) was bagged by Culture House, a testament to creativity, teamwork and overall performance.
A colourful folk dance depicting Lathmar Holi brought cultural splendour to the stage, symbolising festivity, heritage and devotion.
Addressing the gathering, Rana reflected on her own school memories, fondly remembering her father Late Devinder Singh Rana, a patron of the school. Applauding the institution’s contribution to nation-building through quality education, she urged students to work hard, remain consistent, and stay humble while pursuing their dreams.
The event concluded with the Principal’s Address and a vote of thanks, appreciating the Chief Guest, management, faculty, parents and students. The ceremony ended with the National Anthem, marking a memorable celebration of excellence and achievement at Heritage School Jammu.
