KATHUA: As part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a series of activities marked the inaugural day across District Kathua.
The Day 1 celebrations witnessed enthusiastic participation of students, teachers, staff and PRIs across schools and institutions in both rural and urban areas of the district.
At Government High School Kadyala, the event was organised by ECO House under the guidance of Headmaster Rama Kumari. Students and staff came together to hoist the National Flag and pledged their participation in the campaign with full patriotic zeal.
At GHSS Nagri Parole, the school premises were adorned with vibrant Tricolour decorations as students took part in various creative activities. A painting competition was also held at GHSS Durang to engage students in expressing their patriotic sentiments through art.
Meanwhile, schools in various education zones including Hiranagar, Marheen, Barnoti, Basohli and Bani also organised flag hoisting ceremonies, patriotic songs, poster-making competitions, and awareness rallies, kickstarting Phase 1 of the campaign on an inspiring note.
Heads of institutions and teachers sensitised the students about the significance of the National Flag and encouraged them to actively participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga movement by hoisting the flag at their homes from 13th to 15th August 2025.
The District Administration Kathua has chalked out a detailed action plan for Har Ghar Tiranga 2025 campaign in coordination with departments of Education, RDD, Urban Local Bodies, Information, NYK, and other stakeholders. Awareness campaigns, selfie points, heritage walks, cultural events, mass flag distribution, and door-to-door mobilisation are part of the ongoing Phase 1 activities, which will continue until August 08.
The campaign is being monitored closely at the district and block levels to ensure widespread outreach and impactful community participation. Flag code awareness and proper flag etiquette are also being promoted through schools and panchayats.
The District Administration has appealed to the public to register their participation by uploading selfies with the flag on the official portal and to contribute to the success of this collective celebration of India’s independence and unity.
