JAMMU: Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh has announced that the nearly 40-kilometre Pathankot–Dayalachak stretch of the Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Expressway is expected to open by December, marking a significant boost to regional connectivity.
Sharing the update, Dr Singh said the new stretch would bypass the Lakhanpur toll plaza and significantly reduce travel time for commuters.
According to the minister, the journey, which currently takes around 50–70 minutes, is expected to be completed in just 25–30 minutes once the section becomes operational.
The development is expected to facilitate smoother travel and improve road connectivity across the region.
Dr Singh described the upcoming opening as a significant step towards enhancing the ease of travel, a key focus of the Narendra Modi-led government.
