SAMBA: A District-Level Capacity Building Workshop on the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan (PMGS-NMP) was held today at the Conference Hall, Samba, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan.
The workshop was attended by officers and representatives from line departments and was organised to build awareness and strengthen the capacity of district officials in using the PM Gati Shakti Portal for integrated planning, infrastructure development and inter-departmental coordination.
The Deputy Commissioner said the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan facilitates data-driven governance and coordinated infrastructure planning. She said effective use of the GIS-based digital platform would help improve decision-making, minimise project delays and ensure optimum utilisation of resources.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all departments to obtain access to the PM Gati Shakti Portal and use it for planning, monitoring and implementation of development projects and to nominate officers for the roles of Maker, Checker and Approver to ensure timely and authenticated uploading of departmental data.
The PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, launched by the Government of India in October 2021, is a flagship initiative to promote integrated infrastructure planning through a GIS-enabled digital platform.
The technical team from the Industries & Commerce Department, the nodal department for implementation of PM Gati Shakti in Jammu and Kashmir, delivered presentations on the components and functionalities of the portal. The sessions covered an overview of the National Master Plan, portal access procedures, live demonstrations of portal functionalities, the Data Upload Management System (DUMS), analytical tools and the data management framework.
Participants interacted with the resource persons and discussed departmental requirements, operational challenges and measures for strengthening use of the platform.
The training sessions were conducted by Technical Expert (PM Gati Shakti, J&K) Santosh Kumar Rai, Yudhishther Seth and Naseer A Mir, who provided guidance and technical support to participants on the features and applications of the portal.
